walgreens_logo1 Walgreens Scenario For Newbie Couponers Starting 12/1

So hopefully you ventured out and did the deal I posted for last week.  If so you are probably ready to carryover those Register Rewards and so that’s what this post is all about.  These scenarios will continue to build and will be about carrying over Register Rewards and eventually we will introduce adding in the Balance Reward points.  These posts are for Newbie Couponers who want to learn how to do deals or who have never even done a single transaction can do just so you can get the extreme coupon fever.  We will be introducing coupons this segment so if please see the abbreviations page to help you with the coupon lingo.  This deal involves using Register Rewards to obtain these deals.  First of all before I give you the scenarios that you are going to do I am going to give you some rules for using Register Rewards:

  1. You can only EARN one Register Reward for the item purchased PER TRANSACTION.  That means if there is a Register Reward for a product you will only earn 1 in a transaction, so if it earns a Register Reward you only purchase 1 alike item in a transaction.
  2. Register Rewards typically don’t “roll”.  Rolling is when you can continue to use the same Register Reward on the same product that produces it.  For the most part this is not the case, there are times when there are system glitches and you will hear that a Register Reward is “Rolling”, however under normal circumstances know that they don’t.
  3. The number of Manufacturers Coupons, Store Coupons and Register Rewards CANNOT exceed the number of items in your basket.  If you have 12 coupons/rewards and only 10 items in your transaction you will need to get a “filler” item.  Filler items are cheap items (i.e. candy or clearance) that you use to offset your item to coupon ratio.
  4. Register Rewards do not apply to tax
  5. Make sure you are matching the correct product with the tags when doing these transactions to ensure you get your rewards.

Okay now that we have the rules out of the way, here is the transaction that I want you to try starting 12/1:

Option 1, if you did last weeks deals you should have $10.00 in Register Rewards for the following products: $3.00 for Reach, $3.00 for Scrunci, $2.00 for Pure Moist and $2.00 for Flavored Protein Water.  Since you just did the deal on 11/30 the expiration of these Register Rewards should be 12/14/13.  So here is the deal you are going to do:

Transaction 1:

Crest Mouthwash or Rince 3D White on sale for $3.99 + get back $3.00 in Register Rewards
Scrunci Headbank (2pk), Octopus Clips (3 pk) or Clippies (6pk) $2.00 + get back $2.00 in Register Rewards
Add a Cheap Filler item to the deal to help align the coupon to product ratio
Use the $3.00 Register Reward for Reach (Do not use the $3.00 Scrunci Register Reward from last week because you have a Scrunci Product in this transaction and it won’t print out the new $2.00 Register Reward if you use it) + the $2.00 Register Reward for Pure Moist

Pay tax + cost of filler + get back $5.00 in Register Rewards ($3.00 for Crest + $2.00 for Scrunci)

If you have the following coupon: $1/1 Revlon Color Cosmetic, exp. 12/1/13 (SS 10/27/13 R) use that coupon + add a filler item to your transaction.
Pay: $0.99 + tax + cost of the filler item and get back $5.00 in Register Rewards ($3.00 from Revlon + $2.00 from Scrunci)
