Are you confused on the best times to shop for your deals? Well today’s tip is about avoiding shopping confusion and how to get organized. I am sure you visit many blogs…but of course mine is your favorite RIGHT???…lol. Well in visiting blogs you see deals, you print or write out those deals, you print coupons, you cut coupons from circulars, you have sales ads, and your desk may look like a tornado hit it. So how do you get organized for shopping and when should you do it? Here is my suggestion and how I work it. I believe in working smarter and not harder. So when I spot a deal I want to take advantage of I immediately clip or print the coupons for the deal and put it in a plastic envelope that has a label on it for the store I want to shop at. If the deal is a future dated deal, I clip the coupons together and put a sticky note on it stating the date the sale starts and the deal I will be using it for. I then cut and paste that deal into a word document (my word documents are set up based upon the week the sale starts. ie shopping 2/26 or shopping 3/4 – this way again if I have a future dated deal I put it on the document with the appropriate date) and list it under the store that I am getting the deal at.
In doing this I have already prepped my shopping and I am creating my shopping list. I try to prep everything by Saturday Night so that I can shop early on Sunday Morning at stores like Target, CVS, & Walgreens as these stores normally have limited quantities due to several couponers seeking the same deals and because these sales normally last for only one week. Deals for Wal-mart I normally shop at any given time as they normally have larger quantities and rarely have sales. For my food shopping I generally shop on either Sunday after I review the sales inserts in the Sunday paper (as Jewel and Dominick’s issue addendum’s to their sales ads in the Sunday paper) or I shop on Wednesday, because I get the new sales ad on Tuesday and can compare to see which week’s deals are going to be the best.
In couponing organization is the key to being successful, if you are unorganized it will be much more difficult to get your shopping done in a timely manner and you will get frustrated and give up. So take the extra time to clip when you find your deals…trust me you will thank me later.
